World War I Comic

Here are some panels from a work in progress set during World War I.











I was inspired by the art of the period, but also by films like Lost Patrol, by John Ford, and of course Paths of Glory, by Stanley Kubrick. All great filmmakers know that their best tool is the human face.














Here's a first-person-perspective view of a battle scene, albeit an extremely cartoony one. See if you can spot the figures taken from George Leroux's terrifying painting "Hell."
